Meet the Team


Ashley Koranteng

Founder & CEO

Ashley Koranteng is the Founder & CEO of AK Learning Institute LLC and a Middle School Pre-Algebra and Geometry Teacher in the area. She’s currently a Master of Public Health student at George Mason University. She received her B.S in Community Health (Honors College) in May 2019 from George Mason University. She has a passion for education, encouraging and inspiring others to reach their full potential, health education, faith, and mentorship. In her spare time she loves listening to music, learning new things, and spending time with her friends and family. She is also the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Rise and Thrive Inc., an organization dedicated to empowering young ladies to thrive in the world on the foundation of their values and worth. Ashley has 6 years of tutoring experience! She is also a certified Learning & Development (L&D) Professional, allowing her to provide the most helpful learning experiences for all her students and the best training experiences for all her tutors and interns.

Arsema Zadu

Academic Tutor

Arsema Zadu graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018 where she majored in Psychology and minored in Chemistry. She then went on to complete a Master's of Science in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University in 2019. As a pre-medical student Arsema hopes to continue her education to pursue a medical degree. As education has been foundational in her development, Arsema is dedicated to giving back to her community as a mentor aiding first-generation college students in their transition from high school to college. Her hobbies include singing and she was a part of an acapella group during her undergraduate career. Arsema's passion lies in encouraging students to reach their full potential through whatever avenue they are gifted in.

Jacar Baldwin

Academic Tutor

Jacar Baldwin is an academic tutor for AK Learning Institute LLC. Jacar got his bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. He is currently a 2nd year Masters Student at Rice University and will receive his degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in robotics. After graduating, he plans on pursuing a Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on robotics or pursuing a Research and Design job in a fortune 100 Technical Company in robotics and automation. Currently, Jacar is a graduate student involved in his photography organization he started on campus, secretary of the Black Graduate Student Association, and involved in the Black Male Leadership Initiative. He’s worked with companies such as Goodyear, General Electric, Owens Corning, and Apple during summer internships. During his free time, Jacar enjoys cooking, photography, playing sports, teaching himself to play musical instruments, and spending time with his friends and family. He has a passion for being a mentor for youth and in helping young men and women developing the best versions of themselves through discourse, education, tutoring, and fun.

Joselynn Owusu

Academic Tutor and Social Media + Outreach Manager

Joselynn Owusu is an academic tutor for AK Learning Institute LLC. She graduated from Potomac Falls HS in 2019 with an Advanced Studies Diploma while also being an athlete and an active member of several clubs. She is currently a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University studying Health and Exercise Science. When she is not a student, she likes to spend her free time doing makeup, exercising, and spending time with loved ones. She is also the CEO of BeatByJo, a makeup business devoted to making women of every shade look and feel their best. She has a true passion for helping and encouraging others and she aims to implement it into each of her tutoring sessions.

Karl Panton

Academic Tutor

Karl Panton is an academic tutor for AK Learning Institute LLC. He is currently a senior at George Mason University and will receive his degree in Communication, with a concentration in Journalism, and a minor in childhood studies. After graduating, he plans on pursuing a Masters Degree in Elementary School Education. Currently, Karl is an assistant basketball coach at Robinson Secondary School and wants to pursue a career as an Elementary School teacher and High School basketball coach. During his free time, Karl enjoys cooking, watching and playing sports, listening to music, and engaging in insightful discourse with friends and family. He has a passion for being a positive role model, helping young men and women develop; not only mentally, but also physically and spiritually.

Winta Daniel

Academic Tutor

Winta Daniel graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018 where she studied Psychology, while on the pre-med track. She then went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed a post baccalaureate program in 2020. She hopes to pursue her medical degree and become a pediatrician. Her interest in medicine and love for kids pushed her to get involved with and serve as a positive role model to the youth in her community. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Winta’s passion lies in aiding students inside and outside of the classroom, as she believes with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.


Daniel Osafo

Billing and Administrative Intern

Daniel Osafo is a current undergraduate student studying at the University of Mary Washington. He is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity and also plays collegiate baseball at the college. In his free time, he likes to play sports, read books, and hang out with family and friends. He looks forward to supporting Stephanie, AK Learning families, and students as it relates to their administrative and billing needs!


Stephanie Osafo

Billing Manager and Administrative Assistant

Stephanie Osafo is the Billing Manager and Administrative Assistant for AK Learning Institute LLC. She graduated from Virginia State University, with a B.S. in Accounting (Summa Cum Laude). While at VSU, she was an Honor Student, a Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society member, and a member of the National Association of Black Accountants. Some of her hobbies include learning about trading and investing, reading, spending time with family, volunteering, and traveling. Being a beacon of light by helping others and encouraging them to put their best foot forward is just one of her many qualities.
